The Roots of NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) was founded in 1980 when students in Nigeria recognized the need for a unified national platform to protect their collective interests. It emerged from the merger of various student unions across the country, coming together under one banner to demand justice, better educational policies, and equitable treatment for all Nigerian students. Since then, NANS has been a powerful symbol of courage and solidarity, shaping national educational policy and advocating for students’ rights.

Over the years, NANS has played a crucial role in defending student rights, promoting educational reforms, and enhancing the welfare of students in Nigeria. It has grown into one of Africa’s most respected student bodies, known for its steadfast commitment to justice, unity, and development.

Our Mission in Turkey

In the spirit of this legacy, the NANS Turkey Chapter was established to extend these values and principles to Nigerian students in Turkey. We play a vital role in safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of our members, ensuring Nigerian students in Turkey are given the support they need to excel. We achieve this through:
