The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Turkey Chapter is proud to announce that our President, Comrade Caleb Olasupo [Fortunate], was officially invited by the Nigerian Embassy in Turkey to represent the association at the 62nd Africa Day Celebration. The event was held on May 26th, 2025, at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel in Ankara.
This remarkable occasion was a historic gathering, organized by more than 40 African Ambassadors in Turkey, who united to celebrate Africa’s rich cultural heritage and its continued quest for justice, unity, and progress. The theme of this year’s celebration, “Justice for Reparation”, powerfully underscored the call for African nations and their people to be recognized, respected, and fairly treated within the global community.
The presence of our President, Comrade Caleb Olasupo [Fortunate], at this diplomatic event symbolizes a proud and significant milestone for all Nigerian students studying in Turkey. His invitation and participation underscore the Nigerian Embassy’s commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue, engaging with the Nigerian student body in Turkey, and ensuring our voices are heard at the highest levels.
Beyond the ceremonial aspects, the 62nd Africa Day Celebration offered a rich platform for meaningful conversations and the sharing of ideas that aim to advance the collective interests of African communities worldwide. Leaders and stakeholders in attendance discussed the challenges facing Africa and the opportunities that lie ahead, while reaffirming the vital role of youth and students in shaping the continent’s future.
For NANS Turkey Chapter, this is not just an event—it is a powerful affirmation of our association’s unwavering dedication to promoting representation, accountability, and active engagement on behalf of Nigerian students in Turkey. It is also a clear demonstration of our growing relevance within the broader African student community and diplomatic circles.
As we look forward, NANS Turkey Chapter will continue to advocate for the welfare and development of Nigerian students across Turkey. We remain committed to building strong partnerships with diplomatic missions, educational institutions, and relevant stakeholders to ensure that Nigerian students are empowered, recognized, and given every opportunity to thrive academically and professionally.
This milestone inspires us to keep working together, strengthening our bonds and standing tall in the global community as proud representatives of Nigeria.
Let us continue to support one another and raise our voices in unity and purpose—because when Nigerian students come together, we are unstoppable.
